In the days leading up to its 10th anniversary, the Management Centre has organized a strategic planning workshop to carve a three-year road map for itself. The meeting took place at Merit Hotel on 19-20 August. The workshop was attended by all staff and consultants who work with the Centre. During the workshop regarding the Centre’s 2015 goals, the team also utilized the method of scenario planning and modeling.
The President of Board of Directors as well as the Executive Director of the centre Dr. Bulent Kanol has explained that the centre has worked with a sense of professionalist from the first day of its establishment and emphasized the signficance of the work carried out as symbolic of this sense of professionalism.
The Centre, which is one of the forerunners in the area of strategic management and has successfully implemented and helped to implement it both within the Centre and in many other organizations, continues to work with the vision of providing management and sustainable development services at international standards, said Kanol.
Dr. Kanol added that the Centre has navigated the external environment of inconsistency and uncertainty of the past 10 years by managing change and renewing and updating itself, and was very happy with the attention and contributions of their staff and stakeholders to the Strategic Vision Workshop.
Organizational and Economic Development Programme Manager Memduh Erişmen explained that the preparation for the workshop had taken 6 months and that many units and experts working with the Management Centre had prepared the information to be presented at the meeting. Erişmen summed up the workshop, saying “The Strategic Planning Workshop included a capacity evaluation of our Centre, as well as client and stakeholder satisfaction research analysis, and staff/emplyee satisfaction research evaluation. Each of the units within the Centre presented on the strategic objectives of the past 3 years, analyzing the results of this time period and also put ofrth their vision for the next years to come.” A thorough PEST (Political, Economical, Social and Technhological) analysis was also conducted for the Management Centre. The participants who worked and planned using 3 different scenarios using the analysis results were also able to form the future vision of the Centre as a result of the workshop.
Erişmen concluded his words saying “Management Centre continues to lead the region as the institution that most effectively implements Strategic Planning and Management principles. Not only do we apply these principles within our own organizations, but work with municipalities, companies and civil society organizations to help them successfully implement these principles as well.”
The results that come out of Strategic Planning workshop titled Vision 2015, will be evaluated by the Board of Directors of the Management Centre. The Centre will begin to implement its 3rd ever strategic plan since its establishment during the upcoming period of January 2012-December 2014.
